ORGANIZATIONAL WELLBEING

In the aftermath of the COVID-19 pandemic, global industries are struggling with burnout and employee turnover. The trauma-informed model has practical applications to support workforce wellbeing and nurture healthy workplaces. Dr. Elisseou leads hands-on trainings to help teams implement evidence-based support strategies that cultivate individual and organizational resilience. She has consulted for organizations including Procter & Gamble to apply trauma-informed principles to daily workplace operations.

curricular development

Dr. Elisseou has served as Course Leader for the Doctoring Course at the Warren Alpert Medical School of Brown University and Faculty Director for the elective, “A Trauma-Informed Approach to Patient-Centered Care”. Dr. Elisseou has created personalized TIC curricula for institutions including Brown University, Harvard Medical School, Boston University School of Medicine, Albert Einstein College of Medicine, and Columbia University. She is the recipient of a Dean’s Excellence in Teaching Award.

legal services

Trauma-informed principles extend their reach to all professional domains. Dr. Elisseou has served as an expert witness for cases related to trauma. She also worked with a premiere law firm to help them build a trauma-informed survivors’ practice. A trauma-informed approach to legal services can enhance lawyer-client relationships and aid in successful case outcomes.

public health education

Dr. Elisseou has helped to build public health educational programming. Recognizing that routine medical procedures may be uncomfortable and/or re-traumatizing for some, the Canadian Public Health Association (CPHA) invited Dr. Elisseou to build a training toolkit for primary care providers on trauma-informed screening for sexually transmitted and blood-borne infections.
